Collection in and around Gawler works, and it works best when there is a decent load on it. We are straight about that rather than taking a booking we cannot make pay: ring, describe the load, and we will tell you on the phone whether the trip stacks up.
The trade side
- New-build sites across the northern growth corridor. Cable, pipe, roofing and framing offcuts.
- Electrical and plumbing businesses working the estates.
- Local workshops, engineering and machinery repair.
- Renovation and demolition on older Gawler housing stock.
The rural side
- Fencing wire, posts and star pickets.
- Irrigation pipe and fittings, especially aluminium.
- Dead machinery, implements and old vehicles.
- Tanks, troughs and collapsed sheds.
- Pumps, motors and batteries.
Rates
Indicative rates, the same ones on the home page. Metal markets move every week, so ring 0435 805 124 for the exact figure before you load up.
On a rural heap most of the weight is at the bottom of this table and most of the value is in a much smaller pile of copper, brass and aluminium. Pulling that smaller pile aside before collection day is worth doing.
Minimums and distance
Outside the metro area there is a minimum load, and it scales with distance. That is not a sales tactic, it is a truck and a day. The upside is that a genuine clear-out, a run of machinery or a full farm heap comfortably clears it, and those are most of what is actually out here.
How it runs
- Ring or message with the location, photos and what is in the load.
- We give you a real figure and say plainly if the distance does not work.
- Book a day. Separate the copper, brass and aluminium if you can.
- Weighed by type on site so you can see what each pile earned.
- Paid with the weights in writing.
