Commercial & trade

Commercial scrap metal collection across South Australia.

Bins on your site, a run that comes back when you need it, and a weight you watch go over the scales. We buy copper, brass, aluminium, stainless, lead and steel from trades, workshops, factories and building sites right across Adelaide and regional SA.

  • Free collection
  • Bins and cages supplied
  • Weighed on site
  • EFT or cash
  • 7 days, 7am to 5pm

Most scrap yards are set up for someone driving in with a boot full of pipe. That is fine, and we still do it. But a business does not generate scrap that way. It generates the same metal every week, in a corner nobody wants to look at, until someone finally pays a skip company to take money off you for metal that was worth something.

This is the side of the business built for that. You tell us what you make and roughly how fast you make it. We put the right bin or cage on site, come when it is full, weigh it in front of you and pay the business, not a bloke in cash with no paperwork.

What makes a commercial job different

  • Volume changes the grade conversation. A domestic load gets sorted on the tray. A workshop producing the same offcut every day can keep it clean at source, and clean copper is worth several dollars a kilo more than the same copper mixed into a bin of steel.
  • You need it gone on a date, not eventually. A site with a bin in the wrong spot is a site that cannot work. Collection gets booked, not promised.
  • You need paperwork. Weights, metal types and a payment that lands in the business account. Under South Australian scrap metal rules we record ID and pay non-cash on the metals that require it, which is also what your bookkeeper wants anyway.
  • Nobody wants to handle it twice. If the bin is the wrong size or in the wrong place, your crew ends up double-handling metal for no money. Getting the bin right is most of the job.

What we pay

These are the same indicative rates as the home page. Commercial loads sit at the top of each band more often than domestic ones, because the metal arrives cleaner and in quantity.

Copper (clean/bare)$14.00 to $18.00
Brass$7.50 to $12.00
Insulated / wire & cable$4.60 to $9.50
Aluminium$0.90 to $3.00
Stainless steel$0.45 to $0.90

Indicative rates, the same ones on the home page. Metal markets move every week, so ring 0435 805 124 for the exact figure before you load up.

How a commercial collection runs

  1. Call or message with your trade, your suburb and roughly what you generate. A photo of the pile tells us more than a paragraph.
  2. We tell you what it is worth, what bin or cage suits, and whether it is worth separating anything at source.
  3. Bin or cage goes on site. No charge for the bin.
  4. You fill it. Ring when it is ready, or lock in a standing day if the volume is steady.
  5. We weigh it in front of you, by metal type, and you keep the figures.
  6. Payment by EFT to the business, or cash where the law allows it.
