Most businesses handle scrap reactively. The bin fills, it gets in the way, somebody finally rings someone. By then the metal has usually been mixed, the area is a mess, and the collection happens on whatever day suits the yard rather than the day that suits you.
A scheduled arrangement removes all of that. We work out how fast your bin fills, set the cycle to match, and turn up on the same day. Nobody at your end has to remember anything, and if the bin is overflowing it is because we got the cycle wrong, which is ours to fix.
How we set the cycle
- You tell us roughly what you generate in a week, and we have a look at the space.
- We size the bin or cage to the volume and the access, not to whatever is on the truck.
- First cycle is a best estimate. Weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
- After two or three collections the real fill rate is obvious and we adjust the cycle to it.
- From then on it runs on the same day, and you only ring us if something changes.
What a cycle gets you
- A clear work area. The single most common reason businesses want this is not the money. It is that the corner is full.
- Cleaner metal, so a better rate. Metal that sits for months gets rained on, walked over and mixed with rubbish. Metal collected on a cycle stays as it left the machine.
- Separated grades. With a regular service it is worth running a second bin for the valuable grade, because it gets emptied often enough to be practical.
- Weights you can track. Every collection weighed by grade, so you can actually see what the material is worth over a quarter rather than guessing.
- A lower waste bill. Metal is the heaviest thing in a general waste bin, and general waste is priced on weight.
Rates on a standing arrangement
Indicative rates, the same ones on the home page. Metal markets move every week, so ring 0435 805 124 for the exact figure before you load up.
When a schedule is the wrong answer
If your volume is genuinely irregular, a fixed cycle just means empty trips. In that case a volume trigger works better: the bin goes in, you ring when it is ready, and we come within a day or two. Tell us honestly which one you are and we will set it up that way instead of selling you a schedule that does not fit.
