A clear-out is a different job from a collection. There is no bin, no cycle and no sorting at source. There is a pile, an access problem and a date, and the whole thing is decided by what is actually in the heap.
What we clear
- Yards and laydown areas that have accumulated years of offcuts and dead gear.
- Factories and warehouses being emptied before a lease ends.
- Workshops closing or moving, including the machinery.
- Building sites that need to be clear before handover.
- Rural property heaps, fencing wire, machinery and tanks.
- Strata, commercial and industrial property being prepared for sale or new tenants.
How we quote it
From photos, then confirmed on the day at the scales. Two or three photos of the heap plus one of the access point tells us the approximate weight, the metal mix, the vehicle required and the time, which is everything the quote depends on.
- Send photos and the address, and tell us the deadline if there is one.
- We give you an estimate on the metal and tell you honestly if the mix does not justify the trip.
- Book a day. Separate out copper, brass and aluminium beforehand if you have the chance, it pays.
- We clear it, weighing by metal type as it goes so you can see what each pile earned.
- Paid on the day, with the weights in writing.
What it pays
Indicative rates, the same ones on the home page. Metal markets move every week, so ring 0435 805 124 for the exact figure before you load up.
Most heaps are mostly steel by weight and mostly copper, brass and aluminium by value. That is why the mix matters more than the size, and why a photo tells us more than a tonnage estimate.
When it is not worth a trip
If a heap is small, a long way out and mostly light steel, we will tell you. There is no sense booking a truck that costs more than the metal in it, and we would rather say so on the phone than turn up and renegotiate. Outside the metro area there is a minimum load, and it scales with distance.
